The Department of Tamil is the foundational and heritage department of Srimath Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal Tamil, Arts and Science College, established in 1938 along with the inception of the institution. Rooted in the vision of the 18th Pontiff Sri-la-Sri Guru MahaSannithanam, the department has played a pivotal role in promoting classical Tamil literature, Saivite philosophy, and modern Tamil studies.
